Da Vincenzo is owned by Vincenzo Incendiario and managed by Paolo Sebastiani. They are true Italians. Vincenzo is from Napoli in the South of Italy and Paolo from Trento in the North.

Vincenzo and Paolo have worked together for over 15 years, and together, they constantly strive to deliver true Italian cuisine with friendly service. With over 50 years combined experience in the hospitality industry, their achievements have culminated in a restaurant and function venue that delivers.


Vincenzo - The Food

Vincenzo has been serving authentic Italian cuisine to Johannesburg for 25 years. Vincenzo’s recipes derive from his mother Maria who brought them over with the family from Napoli.

These recipes, like those from that day, are based on quality fresh ingredients, which combined with masterful care deliver a meal to be savoured. The food is freshly prepared daily by Vincenzo’s own hand and he ensures that each dish passes his watchful eye to ensure the quality you have come to expect from Vincenzo’s kitchen.

Vincenzo has made a life’s work of delivering good Italian food. Upon your arrival at Da Vincenzo you will find Vincenzo ready in the kitchen to make you your favourite Italian meal.


Paolo - The Service

Paolo was born and schooled in Italy. After attending hotel school in Riva del Garda, Paolo worked in several Hotels in Germany perfecting his craft.

Paolo emmigrated to South Africa where he started his employment at Le Baron Restaurant in Juta Street, Braamfontein. Paolo continued to employ his skills at some of Johannesburg’s top restaurants - Freddies Tavern Parkmore, La Provence at the Mews in Rosebank, Freddies Tavern Melville, and the Klondike in Benoni. Paolo was then appointed as manager of Da Vincenzo in Sunninghill. Paolo has worked with us ever since.

Paolo has made a life’s work of delivering excellent service. When you come to Da Vincenzo you will find Paolo ready to welcome you upon your arrival in a way that will have you feeling instantly at home.


Michele & Manuela - The Functions

Vincenzo’s son Michele and daughter Manuela are on hand to arrange any functions. From small birthday tables to large weddings he is capable of delivering a successful function to compliment your celebration or event. From corporate to private, big or small, private room or just a table - all is possible.


Da Vincenzo - The Name

The name Da Vincenzo means “by” or “at” Vincenzo’s. Your food is made by Vincenzo and you share it with your guests at Vincenzo’s Casa di Paglia.

Da Vincenzo is a restaurant and function venue where one can share authentic Italian food and a range of fine wine. Our aim is to serve you Authentic Italian cuisine in a relaxed country atmosphere which you can share with friends, family and colleagues whether it is a small table or large function.


Casa di Pagila - The Restaurant

It started with a small pizzeria, Pizza Pazza, in the South of Johannesburg. From there it developed into a chain of restaurants in Melville, Bruma and Gold Reef City. Eventually, after some years, Vincenzo wanted to consolidate and moved to Sunninghill. After a 5 year period we moved to our current premises at Casa di Paglia (House of Straw) in Kyalami.

Da Vincenzo’s move to Casa di Paglia in 1997 was prompted by Vincenzo’s desire to give something unique to his loyal customers, not just on their plate but also through the atmosphere that only an Italian family restaurant in the country can produce. A restaurant and function venue under a thatched roof with an ambiance that will entice you to return for the experience and superb atmosphere.
